Tips / What to Check Before You Book

  • Cenote Types: Open, semi-open, underground/cave style. Some are more adventurous (caves, jump-off points), others more relaxed. Pick based on what you enjoy.
  • Gear: Snorkel, mask, lifejacket might be included, might cost extra. Also water shoes are helpful.
  • Group size & private vs shared: Private tours cost more but give more flexibility; shared tours are cheaper.
  • Pickup location: If you’re in Tulum vs Playacar vs Cancún, travel time / cost will vary.
  • Safety / Certification: If diving, ensure the operator is certified and the cenote is safe for that.
